Een podium voor makers die uitsluitend in opdracht werken. Je toont één object, vier weken lang, en ontmoet opdrachtgevers, curatoren, architecten en verzamelaars.

Je toont één object, vier weken lang op het SPoT podium. Op de vloer, de wand of aan het plafond maximaal 10m2.
Startbedrag van €3.000 voor jouw nieuw te maken object – de minimale opdracht- of objectwaarde is €3000,-.
€300 excl. btw voor 4 weken deelname, geen commissie, geen tussenpersoon.
Maximaal 13 vakspecialisten gelijktijdig – diversiteit en collegialiteit vormen de basis van het succes.
Locatie: Museumkwartier in Den Haag, Lange Houtstraat 15B.
Vijf dagen per week open, 14–20 uur.

Hoe het werkt
Je toont je meesterwerk bij SPoT, vier weken lang, tegelijk met maximaal
13 andere vakspecialisten. Daarna wisselt de helft van het aanbod.
Twee dagen van deze periode ben je in collegiaal verband aanwezig, om contact te leggen met potentiële klanten en zowel je eigen werk als dat van de anderen toe te lichten. We zijn vijf dagen per week open, van 14 tot 20 uur.
In de vier weken blijft het object op locatie Lange Houtstraat 15B – een wissel van het object is alleen in overleg mogelijk.
SPoT beschikt over een uitgebreid netwerk. Rond de locatie in het centrum van Den Haag bevinden zich musea, kantoren, restaurants en winkelend publiek — soms gericht op zoek naar vakspecialisten en restaurateurs, soms bij toeval.
Passanten kunnen opdrachtgevers worden. Denk aan relatiegeschenken in de expatwereld, een erfstuk voor de volgende generatie, of een object voor een bijzonder moment. Contact ontstaat spontaan, of via het netwerk van SPoT. We geven geen garanties, wel een podium.
Op het object hangt geen prijs, maar wel een datum: tot wanneer het hier te zien is. Via een QR-code neemt een bezoeker direct contact met je op.
Regelmatig organiseren we een netwerk-ontbijt, -lunch of -diner, om je netwerk uit te breiden en de kans op een opdracht te vergroten. Samenwerken is de bron voor succes.
Elke vier weken wisselen vier tot zes makers. Hierdoor is SPoT een doorlopend platform waar zo’n tachtig specialisten per jaar hun showmodellen kunnen presenteren – dat kunnen ook schaalmodellen of prototypes zijn.
Je mag twee keer per jaar meedoen. De tweede keer met een nieuw object.
Wat je laat zien
Een handgemaakt, eigen ontwerp. De minimumwaarde van een object bij SPoT is €3.000 inclusief btw — dat is wat een opdrachtgever betaalt. Inclusief arbeid, materiaal en het kennismakingsgesprek. Een hoger bedrag is mogelijk.
Denk aan: een meubel, een dertigdelig servies, tafellinnen, een opnieuw te stofferen bank, een wedstrijdbeker, een zilveren kandelaar, een glazen karaf, een klokkenkast. Objecten die erfstukken worden. Of erfstukken die om restauratie vragen.
Deelname aan SPoT is voorbehouden aan zelfstandige vakspecialisten. Je bent ingeschreven bij de Kamer van Koophandel als ondernemer.

During your exhibiting period, courses in photography and media economics will be offered. A language programme is also available on request to help you communicate with international clients or suppliers.

SPoT is een soort vijfde leerjaar. Na je opleiding is dit je volgende stap: je werk tonen in een professionele context, opdrachtgevers ontmoeten, de kans op je eerste opdrachten vergroten.

SPoT is a kind of fifth year of your training. Once you’ve completed your studies, this is your next step: showcasing your work in a professional setting, meeting clients, and increasing your chances of securing your first commissions.
HMC, Sint Lucas, Rietveld, TU Delft, Design Academy — where did you study? What counts: the maker’s touch, an original design, created exclusively to commission by the specialist.

Wat je kunt verwachten
Je eigen exclusieve tentoonstellingsruimte bij SPoT. Toegang voor vier weken voor € 300 (excl. btw). Geen commissie op de verkoop.
Tijdens je tentoonstellingsperiode worden er cursussen in fotografie en media-economie aangeboden. Op verzoek is er ook een taalprogramma beschikbaar om je te helpen communiceren met internationale klanten of leveranciers.
Het belangrijkste is dat je direct contact hebt met musea, verzamelaars, architecten en klanten.

You will exhibit your masterpiece at SPoT for four weeks, together with up to 13 other specialists. After that, half of the exhibition will be replaced.
For two days during this period, you will be present at the exhibition to meet potential clients and explain both your own work and that of the others. We are open five days a week, from 2 pm to 8 pm.
During the four weeks, the object remains at the Lange Houtstraat 15B location – changing the object is only possible by prior arrangement.
SPoT has an extensive network. The location in the centre of The Hague is surrounded by museums, offices, restaurants and shoppers – Some of whom are specifically looking for specialists and restorers, others come across it by chance.
Passers-by can become clients. Think of corporate gifts in the expat community, an heirloom for the next generation, or an object for a special occasion. Contact is made spontaneously, or via SPoT’s network. We offer no guarantees, but we do provide a platform.
There is no pricing on the object, but there is a date: until when it can be viewed here. Visitors can contact you directly via a QR code.
We regularly organise networking breakfasts, lunches or dinners to help you expand your network and increase your chances of securing a commission. Collaboration is the key to success.
Four to six creators are replaced every four weeks. This makes SPoT an ongoing platform where around eighty specialists a year can present their show models – these may also be scale models or prototypes.
You may participate twice a year. The second time with a new object.

You are showing a handmade, original design. Objects at SPoT have a base value starting at €3,000 including VAT. This is a realistic baseline for objects that will be treasured for generations like heirlooms.
For you as a maker, this represents an income. You must be registered with the Chamber of Commerce as an entrepreneur. The starting amount is €3,000 for your new piece. A higher amount is, of course, possible. Prices include labour and the initial consultation.
Think of a piece of furniture, a thirty-piece dinner service, table linen, a sofa to be reupholstered, a trophy, a silver candlestick, a crystal decanter, or a clock. Objects that will become heirlooms.
